Innovamat Research Lab

The bridge between education research and the classroom.

Research at the Service of Learning

The Innovamat Research Lab brings together researchers from fields including mathematics education, cognitive psychology, economics, and public policy, to better understand how students learn mathematics.

We are in a unique position to connect interdisciplinary research with real classroom practice for lasting impact in education.

We investigate how math is learned, test ideas in real contexts, and use what we discover to inform the design of learning resources grounded in evidence.

From research to real-world impact

Everything the Research Lab does falls into one of three areas:
Our research network

Top researchers in math learning, working together

World-leading researchers from fields including math education, cognitive psychology, economics, and public policy.
In collaboration with
UAB, UB, URV, DEP, UCL, WestEd, Germina, Gradiant, IDIBELL

Our research topics

Math learning doesn’t sit inside one discipline, so neither does our research. We bring together experts from different fields to understand how students learn math and what schools can do to help.

Let’s build evidence together

When schools, universities, and research centers work together, math education moves forward.
